Troop 39—since 1912! Scouts BSA Troop 39 is one of the oldest continuously chartered Scout Troops in the United States. Troop 39’s mission is to prepare youth to be well-rounded individuals with an awareness of leadership discipline, service and study. In its first 106 years, over 1,500 young men and have been members of Troop 39 and in 2019, Scouts BSA Troop 39 opened its doors to welcome young women into its thriving program. Hundreds of Scouts from Troop 39 have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, contributing thousands of service hours to projects benefiting our community.
Troop 39 places a strong emphasis on community service. All Troop 39 scouts play a role in making Touch A Truck a great community event and fundraiser for the NC Children’s Hospital and the Troop. Throughout the year, Troop 39 scouts participate in numerous community service activities with many scouts earning the President’s Volunteer Service Award annually. Troop 39 contributes thousands of hours of community service each year.
